This article throws light upon the top five bio-medical therapies used for reducing tension. The therapies are: 1. Bio-Chemical Therapy 2. Herbal Therapy 3. Electro Shock Therapy 4. Psychosurgery 5. Chemo Therapy.
1. Bio-Chemical Therapy:
As all diseases produce tension, bio-chemical therapy plays a vital role in reduction of disease and thus this can be called a tension reduction technique. Actually all inorganic substances formed in blood and tissues are sufficient to cure all curable diseases and in a particular way help to regulate constitutional disturbances.
This therapy is based on cell activity and it is necessary to understand that salts which remains after combustion form an essential part of every cell. Bio-chemicals are pure salts homogenous to the cells.
Minerals in human body physiologically and chemically are closely related to such salts. With the aid of the minerals, disturbed molecular motions in the cells can be rectified. Such salts help to compensate the losses incurred during a disease.
By the use of salts, cells recovery is good and thereby disease is overcome. It has been proved that through special methods of preparations, both mineral and lactose acquire particular physical properties. These salts and minerals when inducted in body cause a disturbance and change the existing state to bring about a restoration of harmony.
Bio-chemical method has been proved very successful in the treatment of constitutional and functional disturbances, disorders of autonomic nervous system, all types of neuragia, and many inflammatory and degenerative processes of all tissues.
Against this successful area of treatment, such therapy shows its own limitations. In cases of infections and contagious diseases chemo-therapy and antibiotic treatment has been considered preferable to this method.
The twelve mineral substances forming part of therapeutic system are:
1. Calcarea floorica (Calc Flur)
2. Calcarea Phosphorica (Calc phos)
3. Ferrum Phospharium (Ferr Phos)
4. Kalium Muriaticm (Kali Mur)
5. Kalium Phospharium (Kali Phos)
6. Kalium Sulffuricum (Kali Sulf)
7. Magnasia Phosphorica (Mag Phos)
8. Natrium Muriatricum (Nat Mur)
9. Natrium Phosphurim (Nat Phos)
10. Natrium Sulfrise (Nat Sulf)
11. Salicea
12. Calcarea Sulphonica (Calc Sull)
This bio-chemical therapy goes a long way in increasing the tension bearing capacity of a person by reduction or elimination of diseases.
2. Herbal Therapy:
Ayurvedic approach recognises that all diseases and abnormalities are due to three doshas (disorders):
(a) Vital Airs,
(b) Bile,
(c) Phlegm.
Herbal therapy emphasises the intake of various herbs to keep the various parts, systems of body in healthy position. As all diseases produce tension, it is necessary to study such therapy to keep oneself healthy and away from disease.
3. Electro Shock Therapy:
In this therapy a full body seizure or convulsion is triggered by a quick jolt of electric current. Electrodes are attached to one or both temples and electricity is directly passed through brain which makes patient loose his consciousness. Basic principle behind this therapy is that it increases the availability of certain neurotransmitters in a region of the brain called the limbic system.
Electricity enhances feeling of well-being by producing ‘Cortial Organism’. ‘It has been observed that such electro-convulsive shocks can result in producing dizziness and loss of appetite and short term memory loss in some cases.
4. Psychosurgery:
This technique for reduction of tension has been stopped due to availability of latest researches in the form of medicine as post-surgery effect produce serious consequences which make the patient dull, aqthetic and drain off emotions and motivations, which are very necessary for a person to live.
The psychosurgery involves removal of brain tissues from profontal cortex from the rest of the brain. It is profontal cortex which is inter-connected with visual and auditory and somatosensory cortica areas etc. This removal of connections gives permanent solutions to a man but makes a man lifeless.
5. Chemo Therapy:
This type of therapy in the form of medicines, i.e., chemical substances is most commonly used due to its cheap availability. These chemical substances help in removing the characters of disorders which make a man to feel better. This type of artificiality gives temporary relief to its taker but normally produces side effects which are harmful.
Such therapy helps in calming one’s nerves, helps oneself to sleep and to brighten one’s moods. Drugs which produce tranquilizing effects reduce tension by soothing the nerves and by this process one can improve upon his social behaviour and sleep patterns which may be short-lived.
